WHO report from the Informal Consultation on People Living with NCDs

From 9-11 December 2020 WHO Informal Consultation on People Living with NCDs was held virtually and ISE representatives were invited to represent the global endocrine health care professionals community. This WHO consultation is the first focusing on meaningful engagement of PLWNCDs and, will be complemented with additional global and regional consultations and activities across 2021 and 2022.

We are excited to share with you the report from the 3-day meeting – ‘Nothing for Us, Without Us’ which you can download via the link below.

People living with NCDs are experts and need to be meaningfully engaged in future WHO programs, principles, and policy co-creation, co-design, and implementation. WHO has already begun to make further meaningful steps forward, including new activities and follow-up consultations with people living with diabetes. As noted in the report, the GCM/NCD will also be working on developing a WHO Framework for Meaningful Engagement of People Living with NCDs across 2021/2022.

Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming months about ISE engagement with the WHO initative and future steps and projects part of the WHO Framework for Meaningful Engagement of People Living with NCDs.
