ICE 2018 marks the launch of the Pan African Federation of Endocrine Societies (PAFES)

The Cape Town Declaration was signed at the PAFES launch Ceremony of the landmark 18th International Congress of Endocrinology, the first to be held in Africa (ICE 2018) on Saturday 1st December, 2018.

The declaration was signed by the founding members:

  • The Nigerian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism
  • The Society for Endrocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, South Africa
  • The Uganda Endocrinology Society
  • La Société Africaine d’Endocrinologie, Métabolisme et Nutrition, Cote d’Yvoire

Paul Stewart, ISE Secretary Treasuser says : “ISE has been working with the SEMSDA to champion the formation of PAFES and will continue to support its development consolidation and expansion. ”

The founding societies identified priorities of the Pan African Federation of Endocrine Societies (PAFES) and held their first PAFES symposium.
