Join us online for a live free webinar in conjunction with the International Society of Nephrology (ISN). Mark your calendar for Monday, 15 September 2025, 1pm (CEST) for our enthralling educational session introducing MACKD – Metabolic Associated Chronic Kidney Disease.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become epidemic across the world. Multiple metabolic and endocrine factors contribute to this. While the role of diabetes is well known, the contribution of other risk factors and diseases is often not recognized. Awareness about newer drugs, which improve multiple metabolic parameters, including renal health, is also suboptimal. The webinar will introduce the term metabolic associated CKD (MACKD).

Programme:

Speakers:

Dr. Sunita Bavanandan, Consultant Nephrologist (Malaysia)

Topic: Exploring the expanse of CKD.

Dr. Jennifer Green, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at Duke University and a faculty member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (USA)

Topic: Endocrine Drugs for Renal Indications

Moderator:

Dr. Dina Shrestha, Senior Consultant Endocrinologist (Nepal)

After this webinar, participants will be given the tools to:

  1. Understand the physiologic metabolic health and renal function
  2. Identify metabolic risk factors and diseases that cause, contribute to, confound or coexist with CKD
  3. Assess, evaluate and monitor metabolic function in persons with MACKD
  4. Appreciate the role of various metabolic drugs in the prevention and management of CKD
  5. Formulate a therapeutic plan for MACKD, using the four pillars of therapy
