LXII Annual Meeting of the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology
In 2022 the LXII Annual Meeting of the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology (SMNE) was held in person in Merida, Mexico on 29 November – 3 December, 2022.
ISE was happy to participate and support the congress with a symposium on FGF-23 with the virtual participation of Dr. Dolores Shoback and the in-person participation of Suzanne Jan de Beur.
The event started with a pre-congress workshop and a course on the 28th and 29th of November. On the 28th of November a workshop on Thyroid Nodule Biopsies was held in which 20 assistants participated and screened 8 patients without resources who needed the procedure. The second course on the 29th was on Diabetes Education for patients and was attended by 87 participants in person, and another 100 online who joined through live streaming.
The academic sessions began on Tuesday afternoon, Nov 29th, with an International Pre-congress Course organized in collaboration with the EASD, with focus on Diabetes Technology. The course was led by 7 local and international speakers who reviewed the topics of CGM, insulin pumps and new insulins and presented in front of 667 attendees.
The 4-day congress was full of simultaneous joint symposia in collaboration with international societies, including ISE and other societies such as AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinology), ADA (American Diabetes Association), EAS (European Atherosclerosis Society), EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes), Endocrine Society (ES), SEEN (Spanish Society of Nutrition And Endocrinology), and with other national societies, such as the Pediatric Endocrinology Mexican Society (SMEP) and the Mexican Society of Cardiology.
The congress had 258 accepted abstracts, 218 of which were presented in poster format and 40 as oral sessions.

The whole meeting had the participation of 29 international speakers, 41 local speakers and 1096 attendees, who all contributed to a really successful event!
